Spinnerbait in and around a mudline
I fished for 3 1/2 hrs with just enough wind to stir up a mudline in a bay. I ended landing one of my fattest 17" Largemouth ever(3 1/2+lbs).I also landed a real fat 16" and a couple of 13 inchers before the mudline started to dissipate.http://i.imgur.com/UvCgrUM.jpg

Nice. Did you fish for bluegill, as well?

bharper 08-17-2017 05:33 PM

No,but I did see mostly small Bluegill in the 3-5" range!I tried worms, football jigs, crankbaits, etc. for the Bass.If it wasn't for the wind coming up for a short burst I probably would've gotten skunked! I used. 1/2 oz Booyah Gold Shiner Spinnerbait with a twin tail Menace Grub.

A mudline is key this time of year.

Looks like a great trip. I dig those transition areas. Munlines, rock to sand/mud, gravel, whatever. Those wind chop spinnerbait bites are a kick when they work out.

Definitely,it saved the day for the 20-30 mins that it lasted! Love the feeling of those blades turning then the aggressive slam and tug!
